In November 2003, a Deaf Committee was established. After one year of preparation the Lord brought a deaf person who later joined the church and, subsequently, the committee. In 2005 the Deaf Committee became Hands Sharing the Gospel FMZ Deaf Ministry.

It is estimated that 98 percent of the Deaf population does not know Christ. The purpose of the Deaf Ministry is to share “The Gospel” (The Good News) to the Deaf community. It is the desire of the ministry to be obedient to the Lord and do as He has commanded in Mark 16:15, 20, “And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.”

Hands Sharing the Gospel FMZ Deaf Ministry seeks to provide services that will allow the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing to fellowship together on one accord. It is our desire to connect with the Deaf Community as a means of strengthening our service and outreach efforts in the community (Acts 2:44).

Hands Sharing the Gospel FMZ Deaf Ministry has been involved in sharing God’s Word by serving other ministries within the church and through outreach.

We are truly thankful for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing members who humbly offer their gifts and talents to assist in the various ministries offered at FMZ such as Photography, Parking, Choir, Dance and Drama, as well as our regular Sunday worship services.

Hands Sharing the Gospel FMZ Deaf Ministry annually celebrates Deaf Awareness Day on the first Saturday in November.
