step-team

Thunder’n Praise Step Team was formed by participants of FMZBC annual Youth Xplosion. Originally under the direction of Bro. Terence Battle, members of the step team sought to add to the FMZBC Arts Ministry and began to rehearse to participate during worship service. Thunder’n Praise’s original members Travis Battle, Andrea Craddock, Breh Stevens- Mitchell and Tiana Patterson had a vision to offer praise and worship through the art form of step, which is greatly known to be a part of the African American Fraternal (Greek) culture. The members jointly combined steps and chants using scripture to spread the Good News.

Currently, Thunder’n Praise is under the direction of Sis. La Donna Stevens and has a membership of 35 gifted steppers ranging in age from 6 to 18. We desire to uplift the Kingdom Of God with boldness, using our God given talents. We refer to Psalm 149:1-4 (NKJ) which calls us to:

Praise the LORD!
Sing to the LORD a new song,
His praise in the assembly of saints.
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Let them praise His name with the dance;
Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation.

and that’s EXACTLY what we intend to do…..
